Satellite Speed Calculator

An example image

Explanation:

\( \text{Speed} = \sqrt{\frac{G \cdot M}{R + h}} \)

Where:

  • Speed is the orbital speed of the satellite (in m/s).
  • G is the gravitational constant (\(6.67430 \times 10^{-11}\, \text{m}^3/\text{kg}/\text{s}^2\)).
  • M is the mass of the Earth (\(5.972 \times 10^{24}\, \text{kg}\)).
  • R is the radius of the Earth (mean Earth radius of approximately 6,371,000 meters).
  • h is the altitude of the satellite above the Earth's surface (in meters).
